I can’t believe that tomorrow is August 1st. The first month of summer seems to have flown by and I haven’t even read a good book yet. Sure, I finally finished recovering my patio furniture and organizing my linen closet (and pantry, storage room, sewing closet…) but I can’t say I’ve found it very fun or entertaining.
Yes, I’ve done some fun things this past month –I’ve gone camping a couple of times and hosted a couple of BBQ’s on my refurbished patio. Our last BBQ produced a 1.1 
carat diamond and that was pretty exciting (read Sunday’s comment on Whimsical Publishing’s Facebook page to find out how!) but the summer’s not over yet and I want to make the most of what’s left.
I’m determined to make every second of August count. I want to host more BBQs and do more camping. I want to hit the beach, sit out on the sundeck and read a good book, attend a concert, fall in love with some new (or old) music, and when the sun goes down watch a good movie or acclaimed TV show. I want to have fun and be entertained!

Then I figured you might want to do the same. So, Micheline and I have decided that August is going to be our Recreation and Entertainment blog month. We’ll begin the month (and end the week) by posting our final lists and suggestions for a well-stocked camper. After all, we expect you –like us—plan on camping this August.
Following that, each day –or at least Monday thru Friday– we’ll bring you blogs on summer games and activities, family reunions, books and authors, movies and actors, music and musicians. We’ll share what we love and tell you why you might love it too. Simply put, we hope to entertain you.
